Comté is made from raw cow's milk exclusively in the Jura Mountains of France, It has been produced for over eight centuries and is France's most consumed cheese. Comté has a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), which means its production rules are strict. Everything from milk treatment, to breed, to geographic region and more, are defined. The texture of Comté is dense and smooth, and the flavors are complex. Our Comté is selected for us by the folks at Essex St. Cheese. They travel to the aging caves at Marcel Petite and taste every wheel to find the perfect Comté just for us. The flavor profile is herbaceous and fruity with hints of hay, fried onions, and hazelnuts. It ranges in age between 14-18 months.

We require 24 hours to process shipping orders. Each order is carefully cut, wrapped, packed, and shipped directly from our shops.
Orders ship Monday–Wednesday to help ensure perishable products arrive fresh and do not sit in transit over the weekend. Orders placed Wednesday–Sunday will ship the following Monday. Holidays and peak periods may affect processing and delivery times.
All shipments are sent via UPS Signature Release. Because our products are perishable, orders are packed to arrive within 1–2 days and are shipped in insulated boxes with ice packs. Melted ice packs are normal and do not indicate spoiled cheese—simply refrigerate your order upon arrival. Please be sure you are home to collect the package from the doorstep. It cannot sit outside all day in the heat.
Please note:
- We do not ship fresh cheese, cooked meats such as pâté, spreads, or platters.
- We cannot ship to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, or internationally.
- We only ship within the Continental United States.
